What is wind resistance fabric made of? ...

This fabric is used in Golf Apparel. Can this fabric be made water resistant as well as wind resistant? Where can I find this fabric

Microfiber, polyester, Goretex, 3M Propore Fabric, nylon, taffeta, PVC, polyurethane are some of the materials used. Most of the big manufacturers engineer their own blends. I would guess that most of the manufacturing is done in Asia so you may not be able to buy these materials over the counter at the local fabric store...

What do you think is the best golf ...

What do you think the best golf brand is for good quality and durability for these things:

- Drivers
- Putters
- Bags
- Balls
- Apparel
- Golf overall

Name each brand next to the object.

There are so many possibilities, but here is my list:

DRIVERS: Taylormade, Callaway, or PING. Taylormade is the most used driver on the Tour, but I like the Callaway FT-iQ more than the R9. G10 gets honorable mention.
PUTTERS: Taylormade Rossa or Titleist Scotty Cameron. I don't like Odysseys - the feel and rhythm is inconsistent. Rossas look cool, are cheaper, and have AGSI technology. Scotty Camerons are used the most on the Tour and will never be the reason why you would miss a putt. They are expensive...
BAGS: Taylormade. They design the nicest ones and they have a completely flat surface on one side so your bag won't wiggle on a cart. I have one and I love it! Sun Mountain gets honorable mention.
BALLS: Titleist or Taylormade. It's a tie really. Pro V1 and Pro V1x for Titleist vs. Taylormade TP Red and TP Black. V1 and Red both increase distance and V1x and Black both reduce spin. Flip a coin!
APPAREL: Adidas or J. Lindeberg or Hugo Boss. Adidas is sheek and cheaper. JL and Boss are expensive, but have very unique designs.
GOLF OVERALL: Taylormade. I think if you bought Taylormade/Adidas everything (driver, wood, iron, hybrid, wedge, putter, ball, apparel, bag etc.), you would have not made 1 single mistake. Everything they make is of exceptional quality.

Golf apparel & equipement.?

I'm 1.9m tall and had broad feet, is there any recomendation for the brand of golf shoes, gloves and equipement/clubs to go after?

The recommendation to get "fitted" Golf Clubs is the perfect way to go. Clubs purchased directly from the Golf Store (Golfsmith.com TGW.com SportsAuthority.com) racks are "standard" length & lie angles. Since you are a tall player, your lie angle will most likely be "upright". Shorter players like myself have a "flat" lie angle. (EX: http://www.pinemeadowgolf.com/clubs101_3.html) I was fitted over 15 years ago & was recently re-fitted for my NEW set of Irons/Hybrid clubs. It makes all the difference in the world when your playing with clubs "fitted" for your swing! Hitting more solid controllable golf shots. I have developed a natural "draw" (golf ball travels right to left, not a hook) since I was fitted. Most companies do not charge extra to be fitted properly. Good luck...

Anyone know of a good place to get ...

I have one of their polos and it's my absolute favorite of all my golf clothing. Very high quality and actually looks stylish. It's getting a little worn now because I wear it on the course and off. I wanted to pick up some more online and was curious if anyone knows of a good online retailer.

Their official website is http://travismathew.com/ but I was wondering if other retailers are cheaper.

Games people play in beaumont texas has a great selection of travis mathew polos. There website is www.gppgolf.com. Polos go for $15 to $25 dollars. They have sells regularly.

What’s The History Behind Golf ...

Why do golfers dress like that? And even the non-professional ones?Would it make a difference if I came onto the course with a wife beater?

There are some rules to golf attire I can't stand- like "no cargo shorts" or "polos only". For one, I don't find a problem with cargo shorts; and Bermuda shorts are just tacky. Polos can feel restrictive- a good mockneck can work just fine. The "no metal spikes" rule is a good rule, however.

I am of the school of thought that says it's not what you play, or how you look, it's IF you play. Some of the guys on my league look like they just got out of work in a foundry, but they're great people with funny stories and decent games.

For the record, wife-beaters in ANY setting is just plain nasty.
